CAVITEÑAN YES-O HOSTS 1st DIVISION ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMIT

   The Cavite National High School (CNHS) Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) hosted the first Division Environmental Summit with the theme "YES-O: Shaping environmental leaders, gearing-up towards sustainable eco-friendly schools" last March 16, 2018 at the CNHS Conference Hall.

      The summit was attended by all newly elected officers of the twelve (12) Elementary Schools and two (2) secondary schools of DepEd Division of Cavite City.

        The main purpose of the summit was to: a) showcase the YES-O Accomplishments per school; b) reiterate to the advisers and newly elected officers the YES-O Constitution and By-Laws; and c) give orientation on the various forms and monitoring tools for YES-O.
      The summit started with the first two numbers, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem conducted by the outgoing internal vice president of CNHS YES-O, Micah A. De Leon, and the Opening Prayer led by the incoming internal vice president of CNHS YES-O. Yeoj Enna S. Enriquez. It was then followed by the welcoming remarks of Mrs. Jocelyn P. Ibanez,  Master  Teacher  I  of  CNHS  Science  Department,  and   an

opening message from Mr. Marvin A. Arnaldo, OIC Assistant Principal of CNHS Junior High School. On the other hand, Mr. Louie-Zel M. Pedro, Division YES-O Advisers President, read the message of the Education Program Supervisor (EPS) for Science Dr. Regin Rex P. Tosco who was at the seminar during the summit. 

          The Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief Mrs. Violeta L. Francisco gave her inspirational talk to the young environmental leaders to further motivate them in proposing projects that will benefit the environment.

           After the inspirational message of Chief Francisco, Mr. Louie-Zel Pedro gave the mechanics of the summit. It was followed by the presentation of YES-O Accomplishments and Best Practices per school in the Division.

         The accomplishment presentation of each school was followed by the presentation of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) mandated programs and activities of YES-O by the Education Program Specialist and Division Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Focal Person, Mrs. Estrella G. Gonzales.

       The YES-O Constitution and By-Laws (DepEd Order No. 72, s.2003) was reiterated by Mr. Louie-Zel M. Pedro. It was succeeded by the presentation of YES-O Mandated Programs, Forms, and Monitoring Tools (DepEd Order No. 93, s.2011) by Mrs. Cherry Leen C. Marquez, OIC Asst. Principal of CHS-SHS.

             The summit was concluded by the distribution and awarding of certificates to the speakers and attendees of the event.
