The CNHS Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) conducted a Green Charcoal Workshop last June 1, 2018 during the 2018 Brigada Eskwela at the Global Filipino School (GFS) Room.

       The said workshop was facilitated by the members of the Solid Waste Management Team (SWMT) of Cavite National High School, Mr. Angelo C. Mendoza and Ms. Maria Jasmine A. Almazan.

        The workshop started with the discussion of the characteristics of Green Charcoals and why they are more efficient and environment friendly than the regular charcoal that we are using. The workshop facilitators also discussed the pros and cons of green charcoal.

      The discussion was followed by the workshop proper on making green charcoal. The facilitators asked volunteers from the participants to demonstrate the molding process of the green charcoal.

         "Nakapa simple lang pala kung papaano gagawin. Sana ma adopt ito sa labas [community] para mabawasan yung pag emit natin ng carbon sa atmosphere" said Eduard Nepomuceno, Grade 9 student of CNHS.

         After the implementation of Green Charcoal Making, the officers of YES-O are planning to roll-out the seminar-workshop in the nearby Barangays of the school.
