The Cavitenan Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), through social media, participated in the conduct of the 2018 Earth Hour last March 24, 2018.

           The Earth Hour is a simultaneous international event which encourages people to switch-off their lights and appliances for one hour (8:30-9:30 PM GMT+8) to show support to the global campaign against climate change and excessive carbon emission.

             The officers of YES-O invited their relatives, friends, and classmates through Facebook to participate in the said annual event. The officers also encouraged Facebook users to add a frame in their profile pictures to show support in the aforementioned global environmental campaign.

              "Nakakatuwa kasi yung mga tao dito sa bahay akala walang kuryente. Tapos nung inexplain ko sa kanila kung bakit ko pinatay yung ilaw, saka lang nila nalaman na may ganung international event pala. Kaya ininvite din nila yung mga kapitbahay namin na patayin din yung mga ilaw nila" said Yeoj Enriquez, YES-O Internal Vice President.
